Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of the HandHistory Discord bot ("the bot"), made and run by Hitchhiker ("we"), hitchhikertech.com. By adding the bot to a server or using it, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

1. What the bot does

The bot turns poker hand descriptions, typed or spoken, into a formatted hand history for review. It is free to use.

2. Not advice, and not a gambling service

• The bot formats hands. It does not give poker strategy, financial or gambling advice.
• It doesn't take bets, hold money, or offer any real-money gaming.
• You are responsible for following the gambling and poker laws where you live.

3. Accuracy

The bot uses AI speech recognition and AI models. They can mishear, misread or get details wrong: cards, sizes, positions or pot sizes. Always check the output against what actually happened. Don't rely on it for anything where a mistake matters.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the bot to break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or any law;
• submit other people's personal information, or content that is illegal, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit;
• try to get around the rate limits, overload the bot, or deliberately use up its shared AI quota;
• try to make the bot produce harmful content, or to attack, reverse-engineer or disrupt its services.

Access may be limited or blocked, for a user or a server, if these terms are broken.

5. Server admins

If you add the bot to a server, you are responsible for choosing which channels it watches with /setup. You're also responsible for letting your members know that hands posted there are processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Availability and limits

• The bot is provided free, as is and as available. It may be slow, rate-limited, unavailable, changed, or shut down at any time, without notice.
• Usage limits (per user and per server) apply and may change.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

• The bot comes with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a purpose, or being uninterrupted or error-free.
• We are not liable for any loss or damage from using or being unable to use the bot. That includes decisions made, or money won or lost, based on its output.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

8. Third-party services

The bot relies on Discord, OpenRouter (and the AI model providers it routes to), Groq, and Railway. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them.

9. Changes

These terms may be updated. The new version will be published here with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the bot after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
